Working with Us

Petroc is one of the leading education providers in the South West. With over 10,000 learners ranging in age from 16–80+ years, we offer apprenticeships, A-levels, vocational and degree courses to students on site, in the workplace and through distance learning. By recruiting expert teaching and support staff, we are able to truly support our students and run an efficient and professional college.

At Petroc, we value the part each staff and governor member plays in the successes of our learners. We actively invest in our staff and continually review our practices to ensure we attract and retain the best. Our staff are forward-thinking, passionate and highly-skilled and help make Petroc a vibrant, inspirational and exciting place to work and study.

We recognise and reward our diverse and talented staff by offering them the best opportunities to progress. We are committed to being an equal opportunities employer; this doesn’t just cover our recruitment and selection procedures but also runs through our learning and development, appraisals and promotion opportunities. We work hard to have a culture free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation. At Petroc, we believe everyone should have the same opportunities to fulfil their full potential and selection for any position would be on the basis of ability and requirements of the role.

Petroc is committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and in promoting EDI, Petroc expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The College Recruitment and Selection Policy seeks to support this agenda through ensuring that at all stages of recruitment and selection are non-discriminatory and individuals are employed on the basis of ability and the requirements of the post (which are detailed in the Person Specification).
