Petroc is one of the South West's leading colleges, operating from three campuses, two in North Devon (Barnstaple) and one in Mid Devon (Tiverton), Petroc reaches out to a large rural community across the whole county. The College is investing for the future, including in state of the art, high tech laboratories and learning environments across Digital and Engineering, an incubator and rapid prototyping centre to support entrepreneurs and a Health Futures Hub, focused on the new skills needs of the health and care sectors.
Good governance is essential to success and Petroc is currently seeking a new Chair and 4 new Independent Board members, able to lead and contribute respectively to the Board attaining outstanding governance which will support the Petroc 2025 Strategy. The Chair will ensure the strategic focus and facilitate the Board, working as a team, to challenge, support and contribute to the strategic leadership of the College.
As the Board seeks to maintain a balance of skills and experience within its membership, we are particularly interested in people with senior leadership experience in one or more of the following: public sector, finance, education, healthcare or digital/technology.
Board Members: Equivalent of approximately 7 days per year, including 3 Board meetings, ideally in person, 3 committee meetings, likely to be held virtually, and 2 half day strategy days.
